Utipro Plus AF is a Medical Device for the treatment of cystitis or lower uncomplicated urinary tract infections. It should be taken from the first signs of symptoms which can include a burning sensation during urination, frequent and urgent urination and pain in the lower abdomen. If symptoms do not improve after 48 hours after taking Utipro Plus AF, consult a doctor as antibiotic treatment may be required.
More severe symptoms such as flank pain (back or side pain), fever or nausea and vomiting indicate that the infection has progressed to the kidneys which requires medical attention and immediate treatment with antibiotics.
This product is not a substitute for antibiotic treatment, however, Utipro Plus AF can be taken in combination with antibiotics.
To prevent UTI recurrence, Utipro Plus AF can be used long term for 15 consecutive days each month.
Utipro Plus AF should be taken from the first signs of symptoms of an infection, regardless of where you are on the cycle. After 5 days of treatment with 2 capsules a day, start the cycle again and continue to take 1 capsule a day for 15 consecutive days.

E.coli is a coliform bacterium that occurs in the intestine where it makes up a large proportion of the natural intestinal flora. If the bacterium migrates from the intestine to the bladder, it can cause infections in the urinary tract.
In the bladder, hibiscus and propolis act by reducing the pH value of the urine in the bladder (mild acidification), creating an unfavourable environment for the bacteria to grow. This helps to clear the infection and improve the symptoms of a lower UTI.
Xyloglucan is a natural starch extracted from the tamarind seed.
Xyloglucan has a mechanical mechanism of action and does not affect the metabolic or physiological processes in the body. This means that there is no uptake into the blood.
The ingredients propolis and hibiscus reach, via the blood, the kidneys and then pass on to the bladder. In the bladder, they lower the pH. The acidified environment creates an unfavourable environment for the bacteria to grow.
Yes, the product can be taken in combination with antibiotics and other drugs. There are no known drug interactions.
Utipro Plus AF contains a very low amount of sucrose. This amount is negligible.
The capsule can be taken with or without food. Efficacy is not affected by food intake.
It is possible to break the capsule in the middle and empty out the contents, which is a powder. To make it easier to swallow the powder, we recommend mixing it with yoghurt or in a drink with a thicker consistency. The powder on its own can have a strong smell and taste.
Utipro Plus AF is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless otherwise specified by a healthcare professional.
The product is intended for lower uncomplicated urinary tract infections/cystitis, which is a common infection in women. Men have a much longer urethra than women, so often when men get a urinary tract infection, it is more complicated and needs to be treated by a doctor. However, it is safe for men to use the product.
The product is recommended from 18 years and up, unless otherwise indicated by a healthcare professional.
Yes, Utipro Plus AF is safe for diabetics.
There is no danger in taking Utipro Plus AF if you have multiple sclerosis or other chronic diseases. Even those with impaired kidney function can take it. Utipro Plus has no known contraindications, however, its use in complicated conditions or in people with serious pathologies should always be under medical supervision.
If you are hypersensitive to any of the product’s ingredients: xyloglucan, gelose, propolis or hibiscus, do not take Utipro Plus AF. The product does not contain lactose or gluten.
Utipro Plus AF is suitable for vegetarians but not vegans.
No, the product does not contain any origin from cow’s milk.
The Xyloglucan-gelose film acts to reinforce the already existing intestinal mucosa and does not affect the absorption of nutrients or drugs.
No, the xyloglucan-gelose film has the same properties as the intestinal mucosa and does not interfere with the functioning of the commensal bacteria or the efficacy of probiotic supplements.
Utipro® Plus is classified as a medical device. This means that the product is registered in the EU, assessed and reviewed by a European Notified Body and meets the requirements set for this type of product. The studies have a high scientific evidence and are published, reviewed and approved by experts knowledgeable in the field.
Utipro Plus AF is a unique and innovative treatment as it has a dual mode of action that works in both the bladder and the intestine.
As 90% of uncomplicated UTIs originate from bacteria in the bowel, the intestine is an important therapeutic target for the prevention of UTIs. Other than continuous prophylactic antibiotic regimes, no other treatments, except for Utipro Plus AF act at the intestinal level.
Utipro Plus AF is the first and only non-antibiotic treatment that acts at the origin of UTIs and has the ability to block colonisation of uropathogenic bacteria in the intestine (bacteria that cause UTIs).
